Brixen's 1st Easter!

Chris and I enjoyed our 1st Easter with Brixen.  We had a very relaxing weekend!  On Friday, we decided to color Easter eggs...  Brixen enjoyed it and didn't cry!  :)  On Saturday, the weather was a bit nicer here, so we decided to go out as a family.  We took a walk downtown Evanston.  We had lunch at Chili's and I bought some new sunglasses.  After our adventure out, we all took a nap when we got home, about 2-hours!  Woohoo!  Sunday, we went to Church and had Easter dinner.  Check out the videos that Chris made for us!

Above is a video from our Church service on Sunday!  I don't remember the name of that song but I LOVE IT!  We are in a new location for the time-being because they are fixing the ceiling in our Church building.  It was a great service!  ENJOY!  HOPPY EASTER!

Month #2

Today, Brixen Christopher, is 2-months old!  Such a big boy!  He had his 2-Month Well Check-Up on Friday.  If you haven't read that update, please see below.  I just can't believe that 2-months ago today I was in labor with our Son!  It truly is crazy how fast time goes by.

Things get easier and easier everyday!  Right now, we have a pretty good schedule but I have to admit it is a challenge trying to work at home and take care of a baby.  I am sure as time goes on, I will get better at it.  Throughout the day, I would say that Brixen takes two naps in his cribs.  Morning and afternoon.  I am hoping he starts to sleep longer at his naps.  It is usually about 1-hour but it would be nice if it was 2-hours.  He eats every 3-hours but trying to push it longer so that he eats more but not so often.  I guess that will eventually help him sleep through the night quicker.  He goes to bed around 8 to 8:30 PM and gets up between 12 AM and 1 AM.  Daddy gets up with him at this time since usually he is still up.  Daddy is a night person and Mommy is more of a morning person.  I get up with him between 3 AM and 4 AM.  After that, he usually sleeps another 3-hours until about 6 AM to 7 AM.  I get up and stay up after that unless it is the weekends.  Brixen will go back to sleep for a bit but not long.  I try to get my morning stuff done during this time.

We went back to Church FINALLY yesterday!  It felt great to be back.  Everyone loved Brixen and thought he was so adorable!  Makes me smile!  He was very good during Church.  Cried a little so I just walked around with him.  After Church, we went up to Highland Park (this cute little town North of us).  We had BBQ at this place...  It was cute, however, someone stole Chris' sunglasses that we got on our Honeymoon in Hawaii.  We got to the restaurant just as it opened.  We were the only customers sitting in this corner.  An employee came over to clean and after that we didn't see them.  It is frustrating because there isn't really anything we can do about it.  I don't understand why EVERYONE CAN'T DO THE RIGHT THING!  I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I stole something.  Sad...

Not much else is new with the Keller Family!  We have no plans for Easter right now.  And, the weather is suppose to be very cold this week so that is disappointing.  Hoping the weather gets nicer soon so that we can go for walks everyday.  Thanks for reading our blog!  Have a great week!  Check back soon!

2-Month Well Check-Up

We just got back from Dr. Rosenbaum's Office for Brixen's 2-Month Well Check-Up.  Dr. Rosenbaum saw Brixen a lot the first 4-weeks because of his weight issue and illness.  Since we hadn't seen him in awhile, we were excited for him to see Brixen and how big he got over the past few weeks.  The visit went well...  See below for the stats!

Length:  23.5-Inches
Weight:  10 lbs; 15 oz
Head Circumference:  40 cm

Right now, Brixen is probably eating about 32-ounces per day.  Dr. Rosenbaum doesn't want him to go over that per day.  He has gained weight rapidly since the last visit but it is most likely because he lost so much at the beginning.  Dr. Rosenbaum wasn't too concerned but suggested we get Brixen on more of a schedule because a lot of times he may just be tired instead of hungry.  So, we discussed that and I am actually excited to start getting him more on a schedule because it will only help us.  It will definitely make things easier since we both will be trying to work more from home now.

I am curious what worked for all my Mommy friends...  Did your babies take a morning nap and afternoon?  I think our night feedings are going well but I feel like during the day all he wants to do is eat.  I think all I am doing is feeding, changing his diapers, and washing bottles!  LOL!  Oh well...  I know eventually somewhat of a schedule will come together!  I am all about schedules!  Love them!

Brixen got two shots and also a liquid one.  He did very well!  He cried for a bit but calmed down after he heard Mommy and Daddy's voices.  Once we put him in his car seat, he fell asleep for about an hour.  We just kept him in it when we got home.  He went about 3.5-hours before we fed him again, which is good!

We go back to see Dr. Rosenbaum in a month because the right side of Brixen's head is a bit flat.  GramJo laughed when I told her that...  I guess they did things a lot differently when we were babies.  We also go back for his 4-Month Well Check-Up on Friday, June 10.  Hopefully, it is really HOT by than because I am getting tired of this weather!  YUCK!

Please check back on Monday for a photo of his 2-Month Birthday!  I will be updating our blog every month on the 18th.  No big plans this weekend.  Although, we are excited to get back to Church.  Sunday will be our first service back and we are very much looking forward to it.  I think tonight we are going out for some BBQ and going to watch a movie.  Of course, cartoons on Saturday morning and just relaxing.  Weather doesn't look very nice for the weekend!  Darn!

Fun with Brixen

Long Time...

WOW!  It sure has been awhile since I last updated our Blog...  I am sure our family and friends are wondering what happened!  But I still post a lot on FB.  I know, it isn't the same!  I apologize but it has been a struggle to find the time to sit down and actually write.  It was so easy when I was pregnant.  But now, I am either being a Mommy, Wife, or a Career Woman!

The past couple of weeks have been great!  My Mom came to visit the first weekend in April.  She was here Thursday through Saturday.  It was so nice to have her here.  She couldn't put Brixen down and he got spoiled being held all weekend.  During her visit, the Chicago Cubs had their first game and we dressed Brixen up in his first Cubs outfit.  It was a little big but so darn cute!  Chris and I were also able to get out and look at some properties.  GramJo babysat for us!

Last weekend, GramJo came back to Chicago with the Krukowski's (Aunt Ashlee, Uncle Kyle, Lisa, and Tony).  We had a wonderful time.  Lisa made a ton of GREAT food!  Basically, we stuffed our faces most of the weekend!  We did get out to take a walk on Saturday.  It was still a bit chilly here but it was nice to get out of the house.  After Brixen went to bed on Saturday, we played Apples to Apples...  Oh, good times when we play games together!  They all left on Sunday and it was the middle 80s here.  We decided to drive to Highland Park and walk around downtown.  It was so nice to be outside with the sunshine.  Also, we had DQ.  I love the mini blizzards!

Brixen has his 2-Month Well Check-Up on Friday.  We are excited to see his Pediatrician.  He probably won't recognize Brixen because he had a weight issue at the beginning but now he is gaining like crazy!  He is eating every 2 to 3-hours during the day and having at least 4-oz per serving.  I am mostly pumping breast milk BUT when he is really hungry and I don't have any breast milk left, we give him formula.  At first, I felt like I was a bad Mom because I was giving him formula but in the end, I realized it is what works best for our family!

I plan to update our Blog on Friday with his visit as well on Monday when he will officially be 2-months.  WOW!  That sure did go by fast!  We both are enjoying our time and adapting well to parenthood.  Looking forward to Summer!  I am so tired of the cold weather.  I can't wait to get some sun, go to the beach, and visit Michigan on the weekends!

Check back later this week!  I am hoping to take more time to update our Blog.  We are finally getting on a better schedule.  But I have to admit, it is a challenge to be a Mom, Wife, and Work from Home.  But I am managing well and it gets better and better each and everyday!  Thanks for always checking and reading our Blog!
